'Farmhouse' Breakfast

At Stubcroft Farm we pride ourselves on providing a proper “Farmhouse” breakfast to start your day. Recently, we received the English Toursit Board breakfast award, which recognises those B&Bs that offer their guests a quality and choice of breakfast, service and hospitality that exceeds what would be expected at their star rating. Only 7% of B&B's in the UK have received this award which puts Stubcroft Farm amongst some of the best B&B's in the country.

We use our own produced free range eggs from our hens which you may see in the orchard. (Surplus eggs are also available to purchase by guests when available). There is a wide choice to choose from. For those with a hearty appetite our “Farmhouse Breakfast” will set you up for the day. It includes your choice of pork (or vegetarian) sausages, bacon, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, fried bread and eggs. For those wanting a lighter option, there is a choice of boiled, poached or scrambled eggs on toast, porridge, smoked mackerel, kippers and of course a selection of fresh fruit, cereals, toast, home made jams, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee.

The Dining Room

Wherever possible we use Fairtrade & Organic produce to ensure high quality food, tea & coffee. Fairtrade products are those that give a fair percentage of the profits to the farmers or growers. This helps them to support themselves, their families and their communities, by using the extra income to invest in building schools community infrastructure projects like safe water supplies & business improvements. For more information, go to www.fairtrade.org.uk . We also aim to use local sausages & bacon whe we can and, time permitting, bake our own bread.

For evening meals, there is a good selection of places within walking distance. For a list of recommended local pubs, restaurants and cafes, have a look at our Where to Eat page.
